Thank you to everyone who attended Mary's 100th birthday party yesterday. If case you were not able to make it, here are a few pictures from the wonderful celebration.

Mary turned down the role of Dean of Women twice before accepting in 1967. By then, she had served as the director of Marguerite Hall and the Director of Women’s Housing for 11 years. She is pictured here with students in the lobby of Rogers Hall (now Jesuit Hall) in 1960.

The Women’s Council Mary Bruemmer Scholarship awarded $14,000 to 8 deserving students this academic year. Join us in supporting this scholarship in honor of Mary’s 100th birthday and help us reach 100 donors this month. A $100 donation is not only a fitting tribute to Mary, but will also be matched dollar-for-dollar by Go Further, SLU’s scholarship matching initiative. This academic year, the Women's Council Mary Bruemmer Endowed Scholarship supported eight deserving SLU students. Hear what the scholarship means for one recipient below.
"Thank you very much for your scholarship donation to SLU. As the chosen recipient, I’d like to let you know what I’ve been up to at SLU. I’m currently a sophomore in the Physical Therapy Program with a minor in Psychology. I decided to take this direction for a career because I am very interested in how the body works. I am also passionate about helping people do the things they wish to do on a daily basis. I’m a member of a club called SLLIS which is a bilingual school in St. Louis. This club gives me a chance to help young children during a regular school day. Furthermore, I work at the St. Louis physical therapy clinic as a student worker. I believe that this is an excellent learning opportunity.
Next year, I plan to study abroad in Madrid with other students in the Physical Therapy Program. I am very excited for the experiences that being abroad comes with and what the rest of my journey here at SLU holds for me.
Thank you, again, for your generous donation that allows me to stay here at SLU."
